Shorts (30 min.)

“Second Guessing Grandma” (USA, 2008, 10 min., director Bob Giraldi): A boyfriend and mother are pushing someone to come out to their Grandma, but her reaction may surprise them.

“The Island” (Canada, 2008, 5 min., director Trevor Anderson): The filmmaker considers, with the help of animation, a piece of fan mail he received.

“Kaden Later” (USA, 2008, 9 min., director Harriet Storm): For Kaden, a trans guy in his early 30s, surgery gave him the body he wanted. Now, as he and his girlfriend Monika plan their wedding, he must figure out how he fits into society.

“Make A Mate” (USA, 2009, 4 min., director Jennifer Jordan Day): Animation/gender queer — a lonely woman finds a magical shop where she can choose the ingredients to make a mate in this fantasy film.

Feature
“Patrik, Age 1.5” (Sweden, 2008, 100 min., director Ella Lemhagen): Goran and his partner, Sven, have been cleared for adoption by the Swedish authorities. The problem is that no country seems to be willing to give a child to a homosexual couple. One day, they receive a letter with an offer from social services to take care of “Patrik, Age 1.5.” On the day the baby is expected to arrive, a lanky teenager rings their doorbell.

“James” (Ireland, 2008, 18 min., director Connor Clements): When James realizes that long-buried secrets can lead to poor family relations, he feels it’s time to confide in his only friend.

“Evelyn Everyone” (Australia, 2009, 17 min., director Kylie Plunkett): Evelyn Everyone is stuck, single and lonely. On her 33rd birthday, she makes a final bid for love, in the online world of Second Life.

“Les Lapines/The Girl Bunnies” (Canada, 2009, 4 min., director Francoise Doherty): Two female bunnies living across the world from each other fall madly in love and excitedly adopt eight chicken eggs.

“Back to Life” (USA, 2009, 12 min., directors Desi del Valle and Hollie Lemarr): Following the death of Trista’s girlfriend, the comforting shoulder of straight gal-pal Monica turns into more.

“Reunion” (USA, 2008, 11 min., director Dennis Hensley) In this comedy, a gay TV home makeover show host discovers his former high school classmates are not exactly what they once seemed.

Feature
“Prodigal Sons” (USA, 2008, 86 min., documentary, director Kimberly Reed): Marc’s had a rough life, while his sister, Kim, has always seemed to have it easy. Having these two siblings in the same grade in a small Montana town made for a perfect storm of sibling rivalry, which they revisit 20 years later.

Shorts II (50 min.)
“Tools 4 Fools” (USA, 2009, 8 min., directors Kate A. Brandt and Leslie Lange): A wacky enthusiast hawks items in an infomercial from hell.

“Falling for Caroline” (Canada, 2009, 20 min., director Christine Chew): To win the girl of her dreams, a klutzy woman must overcome a wardrobe malfunction and the bad lesbian habit of overprocessing.

“Thirteen Or So Minutes” (USA, 2008, 14 min., director Branden Blinn): Everything can change in a short time.

“The Apple” (France, 2008, 12 min., director Emilie Jouvet): Director Jouvet has recreated the atmosphere of pin-up movies. Eve wakes up in Paradise, finds an apple and commits a delicious sin.

Feature
“Hollywood Je t’aime” (USA, 2009, 95 min., director Jason Bushman): Recently broken up and barely enduring gay, Parisian Jerome Beaunez impulsively books a solo Christmas vacation to Los Angeles.

“Transproofed” (USA, 2009, 14 min., director Andrea James): Friends Ava and Joyce race to hide hints that Ava is transsexual before her unaware date arrives.

“Bi-Definition” (USA, 2008, 8 min., director Kai Salim): He’s not just trying to convince himself, he’s really bi. You know what? Just let him show you in this back-to-back date gone completely awry.

“Amor Crudo/Raw Love” (Argentina, 2008, 16 min., directors Juan Chappa and Martin Deus): Two friends spend the last days of high school together, but this will inevitably come to an end.

“I’m Sorry, Sterling” (Canada, 2009, 4 min., director RM Vaughan): An experimental film about living your life “in the right movie.”

“Boycrazy” (USA, 2009, 25 min., director John Sobrack) A boy meets boy meets boy meets ... musical.

Feature
“And Then Came Lola” (USA, 2009, 70 min., directors Ellen Seidler and Megan Siler): In the fast-paced, colorful, fragmented style of “Run Lola Run,” this local feature chronicles the tempestuous journey of commitment phobic photographer Lola.
