World AIDS Day is a time for people all over the world to work together to fight this epidemic.

In Indiana we average over 100 new cases of HIV every three months—that’s one a day from towns across our state. And Indiana has been spared the worst of this epidemic. In Africa AIDS is crippling families, villages, towns, cities, and entire countries.

Our featured speaker this year is Amy Baker who will share with us her experiences as an HIV Education Volunteer with the Peace Corps in Swaziland where HIV incidence rates are close to the highest in the world. Her responsibilities ranged from working with local youth on prevention to helping bring a mobile voluntary counseling and testing unit to the rural village in which she was stationed.
