White River Valley PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) hosts a program this month on "Back to School Safely."

Welcome to the first meeting of the White River Valley PLFAG (parents, families and friends of lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender persons) chapter in Owen County Indiana.

Since it's that time of year, the theme of the meeting is “Back To School Safely”. We will discuss issues affecting GLBT students. We will be collecting donated school supplies, such as, index cards, markers, highlighters, etc. for the Owen Valley Alternative High School. Cash donations for the school are also welcome.

We will spend time getting to know each other and discussing school and other support issues. Refreshments will be provided.

PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Persons) is a national non-profit organization with a membership of over 77,000 households and more than 425 affiliates worldwide.

The group’s mission is to promote the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends through support, education and advocacy. PFLAG provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.
