Laramie Project (B'ton)Submitted by John Clower on April 8, 2008 - 6:52pm.
05/08/2008 - 7:30pm Etc/GMT-5 The Laramie Project Bloomington High School North's Advanced Theatre Production class presents The Laramie Project. Told in documentary style, The Laramie Project portrays the aftermath of one of the most shocking hate crimes in modern day history: the killing of young homosexual college student, Matthew Shepard. As the nation reeled from this horrible crime, Moises Kaufman and the members of the Tectonic Theatre Project went to Laramie, Wyoming to explore the effects of this horrific crime on the small town of Laramie. After interviewing more than 200 residents, a play was created that revealed the bigotry and tolerance, the fear and courage, the hate and hope that is Laramie, Wyoming, indeed, that is America. This thoughtful portrait of a town suddenly thrust into the spotlight is directed by student Dennis Wilson and produced by members of the Advanced Theatre Production class. CAST: Nolan Hart, Ethan Philbeck, Will Bray, Ben Newman, Sophie Krankhe, Jenn Stumpner, Felicia Adamson, Nicola Chavez-Courtright, Kate Anderson, Miranda Gregory, Jordan Howell, Samantha Paul, Mattie Theobald, Chloe Waterman, Sarah Weber, Avery Wigglesworth and Asher Thompson PERFORMANCES: Tickets are available at the North Black Box during school hours and on the evening of the performance. Box office opens one half hour prior to performance. Presented through special arrangement with Dramatists Play Services. ( categories: )
