02/22/2008 - 5:30pm Etc/GMT-5 The Kinsey Institute is pleased to present a lecture by University of Illinois historian Dana Rabin, followed by a gallery tour at 6:30 p.m. Prof. Rabin's lecture takes place in Morrison Hall 007 on the IU-Bloomington campus. Rabin will discuss her research in a talk titled : “The Sorceress, the Servant, and the Stays: Sexuality, Race, and Politics in Eighteenth-Century Britain” A guided tour of the “Women of Pleasure” exhibition in the Kinsey Institute Gallery will follow the lecture. “Women of Pleasure” explores the depiction of women in 18th and 19th century European erotic art and literature, using artworks, photographs, and books from the Institute’s extensive collections. Refreshments will be provided. "Women of Pleasure will be on view in the Kinsey Institute Gallery from January 18 through April 4, 2008. The Kinsey Institute Gallery is open 2 to 4 pm weekdays. Admission is free. Visitors should be 18 years of age or older, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian ( categories: )
