Screening of the 2006 short satire "The Gendercator" by Catherine Crouch and the award-winning 2004 short documentary "Mind If I Call You Sir?" Followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with historian and filmmaker Susan Stryker, queer theorist and film scholar Judith Halberstam (Professor of English and Women's Studies at University of Southern California) and Suzanna Walters (chair of IU's Gender Studies Department).
"The Gendercator," well received at the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, was removed from the San Francisco International GLBT Film Festival in early June 2007 after a firestorm over its representation of transsexuality.
At the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, 114 E. Kirkwood, downtown Bloomington.
Free and open to the public.
